Suffolk Coaching Programme

Welcome to the Life after Cancer coaching programme for Suffolk.

This is a 6 session coaching programme for anyone living in Suffolk who has been affected by cancer. After our own experience with cancer, we quickly realised that the world was a very different colour post cancer. Cancer shaped our lives so we created this programme to support others in shaping theirs.

The programme will be delivered through 6 online workshops, over 6 weeks, limited to 12 people and are co-delivered with the Life after Cancer team and Wellbeing Suffolk, the NHS Talking Therapies provider for Suffolk.

The workshops will help you to fulfil your potential after cancer by dealing early on with some of the issues that may have arisen by your diagnosis. We will encourage you to trust your whole self and to support you to live in a way that is in line with who you are after cancer.

Subject areas include: Life after cancer (values, beliefs, priorities); what we need to feel 100%, creating a life vision after cancer; the stories we tell ourselves and how we can re-write these, managing emotions, increasing confidence and decreasing fear.

_____

Workshop 1: Identity & Values: After a life-changing event, your beliefs, values, and priorities often shift. In this workshop, you’ll reassess your identity, clarify what’s important to you, and create a personal self-care plan. You’ll leave with clarity about your needs and actions to support your wellbeing.

Workshop 2: Present State & Visioning: Post-cancer, your pre-diagnosis goals may no longer align with who you are now. We’ll assess your current state, envision your future, and identify areas for change. You’ll gain clarity on your life’s direction and a vision for life after treatment.

Workshop 3: Anxiety and Worry Management (delivered by Wellbeing Suffolk): Anxiety and worry are very common experiences when in remission from cancer and can have a big impact on your wellbeing.  Your life may feel very different post-cancer and all the uncertainty may seem overwhelming.  In this workshop you will learn all about anxiety and some practical strategies to manage it.  We will also provide an understanding of what worry is and teach you evidence-based strategies to manage it.

Workshop 4: Stories & Reframing: We explore the stories you tell yourself and question whether they serve you. You’ll rewrite your narrative, fostering hope and new possibilities by shifting your mindset

Workshop 5: Awareness & Communication: We’ll reconnect with our bodies, map where we feel emotions, and discuss what we notice. You’ll leave with greater self-awareness and improved communication skills, both with yourself and others.

Workshop 6: Thoughts, Language & Gremlins: We’ll examine your internal dialogue and language, recognising how words impact your self-perception. You’ll learn to manage inner critics and practice being kinder to yourself.
