LIFE AFTER CANCER
92% of our cancer community told us that they find life after cancer harder than cancer treatment.
Life After Cancer brings people together who have finished cancer treatment to form support groups, with an aim to increase their physical, mental, emotional and social wellbeing. The support they receive reduces the risk of serious mental distress and helps them to build a positive life after their cancer experience. The groups are facilitated by ICF qualified coaches who have their own personal experience of cancer.
We offer individual support through one-to-one coaching, group workshops and support groups, helping you to get from where you are now, to where you want to be.
After our own experience with cancer, we quickly realised that the impact of cancer didn't suddenly stop once treatment was over. Conversations around cancer decreased, the support structure that we'd got used to just wasn't there and there was an assumption that everything would 'go back to normal' because the treatment had ended. We realised that the world was a very different colour post cancer.
Cancer shaped our lives so we created this space to support others in shaping theirs.
It is well known how hard a cancer diagnosis is to deal with, how gruelling treatment can be. What is less well recognised is how hard life can be after the treatment has finished, physically, psychologically and emotionally. It can feel like your have lost you identity, your confidence, your self. Steph has helped me confront these feelings and rebuild my life after cancer. With her support, I am now better at looking after myself, challenging my anxieties and finding that all important balance in life. Steph is an incredible coach. She is compassionate and supportive, but also challenging when necessary. Coaching has changed the way I live my life for the better and I will be forever grateful for Steph's help.
